[Event] How I Lost My Love of Sport My First Semester of College and Why


Can you imagine not wanting to play the sport you have loved all your life?

Learn how to enjoy and love your sport in high school and college.  It’s all about self awareness and the recruiting process!

Saige Smith is a former high school and college soccer athlete.  She was a standout in high school and was recruited to play in college. Learn about how she excelled in high school, approached her journey through the recruiting process and experienced that first year in college.  

Attendees will learn:

  • How easy it is to make mistakes with the recruiting process
  • How college coaches can ultimately steer you in the direction they want.
  • How coaches don’t always tell you the truth and what to do about it. 
  • Factors that could cause you to fall out of love with your sport and how to avoid them.
  • What helps you own your own recruiting process and future career.

About Saige:

  • Former high school stand out soccer player from Ohio
  • Transferred colleges when she fell out of love with soccer
  • Ending up going a different route with sports
  • Graduated from Bowling Green State University
  • Majored in Inclusive Early Childhood and Mastered in Special Education – specialized in Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Teaches elementary school
  • Currently competes in National CrossFit competitions
