Dr. Karen Weaver studies the cross section of higher education and athletics, with particular focus on how colleges and universities use athletics to achieve strategic outcomes. She regularly consults with Presidents, Trustees and other senior leaders in higher education on how to create a successful, legal and ethically compliant intercollegiate athletics program on their campuses. She is deeply focused on the changing landscape of college sports, and contributes her voice to the national conversation via Forbes.com, Sports Business Journal, Change Magazine, and and her podcast, “Trustees and Presidents-Managing Intercollegiate Athletics”.
Karen is passionate about appropriate oversight, articulating the critical role college sports can play in the branding and growth of a college, with particular focus on those that face changing student demographics.
